PEER BASED PRESCRIBER PRACTITIONER PROGRAM

Act 395 of the regular session of the Louisiana Legislature mandated the development of  a program which emphasizes “Peer-based prescribing and dispensing practice patterns for health care providers who participate in the LA Medicaid Pharmacy Program”.  This program will develop a process of data sharing between the LA Medicaid Program and the individual practitioner.

This data sharing program will send to practitioners, via mail, their individual peer-based practitioner profiles.  These profiles include a comparison of the practitioner’s Medicaid Prescribing Practices with those of his/her peers.
